Griffin Coop

Griffin Coop is a freelance writer who focuses on the unique stories and people in the bourbon and thoroughbred industries. A fan of horse racing and bourbon, Griffin got his first taste of Kentucky while working at Sovereign and Eclipse Award winning Pin Oak Stud in Versailles, KY. He continued to learn about the horse industry during internships at the Thoroughbred Times and the Bell Group. 

Griffin holds a bachelor's degree in Religion from Syracuse University, a Master of Theological Studies degree from Boston University and a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Griffin is former employee of the Office of the Mayor of Little Rock, Arkansas where he worked worked on a variety of public policy issues and programs. Griffin is currently the Executive Director of the Lymphomaniac Society, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides respite trips to cancer survivors. 

Griffin has written for Horse Canada, the Encyclopedia of Arkansas, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and the Pine Bluff Commercial. His profile of Sarava, the biggest long shot winner in the history of the Belmont Stakes, will be published in Old Friends Magazine, which is published by the Daily Racing Form. 

Griffin lives in Little Rock, AR with his wife (Elizabeth) and cat (Mr. Meowington). . . yes, that's really the cat's name.
