Our friends at Wilderness Trail Distillery are ready for some Summer Jams!
Wilderness Trail in Danville, KY, has an outdoor concert series this summer called “Summer Jams.” Singer/Songwriter Jason Sinkhorn of Junction City, KY, kicked off the concert series with a show earlier this month.
The series features two more concerts on August 4 with Michael Evces of Danville and on September 1 with Jonathan New of Somerset. The events feature cocktails made with Wilderness Trail's Blue Heron Vodka and Harvest Rum. The distillery, which also produces Kentucky Straight Bourbon and Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey, will make the first release of its Bourbon in December.
See below for more information from Wilderness Trail:
Aug. 4: Michael Evces. Evces lives in Danville and has played guitar and harmonica for over 20 years. His influences include Bob Dylan, Van Morrison and Neil Young. His performances include original songs as well as familiar favorites across several genres. He plays regularly in Danville, Harrodsburg, and Lexington. Recently, he portrayed a guitar-playing character on stage at Pioneer Playhouse and Lexington's Lyric Theater in Robby Henson's play “Good Blues Tonight.” Listen to him at: https://soundcloud.com/michaelevces. Buddy's World Famous Food Truck will provide the food.
Sept. 1: Jonathan New, guitarist with the West Coast Turnarounds, performs and there will be delicious food. This Somerset native’s first musical influences were the old gospel songs at the Baptist church where his father pastored. His mother was also a traditional country fan and would play Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Porter Wagoner, Loretta Lynn, and Dolly Parton records. New took up the guitar at 13 and began writing his own songs at 17 after hearing Billy Joe Shaver (a Texas songwriter ). His album, “My Guitar and I” is available through him.
New’s performances include the Master Musicians Festival, The Nashville Songwriter Festival, ROMP, and the Red Barn Radio Show. He tours nationally with different artists as part of their road band. Along with his solo career, you can catch Jonathan playing with Travis Harris and the West Coast Turnarounds, The Rachel Crowe Band, and Funkabilly.
Of course, enjoy Wilderness Trail Distillery’s cocktails made with Blue Heron Vodka and Harvest Rum at all of the Summer Jams.
Wilderness Trail Distillery, which is a member of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail Craft Tour, also produces Kentucky Straight Bourbon and Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey. The first release of the Bourbon is this December.
