The Breeders’ Cup World Thoroughbred Championships begin Friday at Churchill Downs in Louisville. The two-day event of 14 races brings together the best horses, trainers and jockeys from the United States and abroad.
Friday’s racing card features five Breeders’ Cup races, including the much-anticipated Breeders’ Cup Juvenile, which includes the favored Game Winner who is conditioned by Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert. The Breeders’ Cup Juvenile annually features some of the leading contenders for the following year’s Kentucky Derby.
Saturday’s racing card features nine Breeders’ Cup races, including the crowning event - The Breeders’ Cup Classic. Accelerate, trained by John Sadler, is the favorite.
